Community benefit from £450,000 contribution in Dalston, Carlisle

The local community in Dalston, near Carlisle, will benefit from hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of financial contributions made by Story Homes.

The housebuilder has made two significant payments to Cumbria County Council and Carlisle City Council in relation to The Grange development in the village.

The children of St Michael’s School are visited by Builder Bear.

An education contribution of £342,502 was made to Cumbria County Council to provide additional accommodation at St Michael’s Church of England Primary School.

A recreation contribution of £115,586 was made to Carlisle City Council, to provide and maintain children’s play space and sports pitches within the parish of Dalston.

The payments have been made as part of Story Homes’ ongoing ‘The Grange’ development, which has brought 128 new homes to the village.
