LABC is a membership organisation representing all local authority building control departments in England and Wales and The Bricks recognises and rewards high quality construction and design from developers and contractors who stand out from the crowd. Birkbeck Gardens will be competing against other developments from across the UK to take the title.

Dexter Routledge, Production Manager, said of the nomination: “Birkbeck Gardens is a fantastic development which showcases the Story ethos of high quality homes. The development blends in well with the rural location and is asset to the local community.”

Recently sold out Birkbeck Gardens has brought 60 new properties to Kirkby Stephen including a mix of bungalows, terraced, semi-detached and detached family homes. The development has been finished with a mix of natural buff stone, brick and render.

Story Homes has plans to build 142 new homes in nearby Appleby, with sales due to start later this year.

The winner of ‘The Bricks’ Development of the Year will be announced at a ceremony in London on Friday 17 October.
