Story Homes proposes to build a residential development capable of providing around 300 homes on the southern edge of Carlisle. The land is bounded by Hammonds Pond, Oaklands Drive and Durdar Road. These proposals will create a sustainable and integrated residential development that provides a range of housing within a high quality, highly accessible environment. It will also include 59 affordable homes, open space and amenities.
Status: Following a public consultation in July 2012 at St Herbert’s Church Hall, a planning application was submitted to Carlisle City Council. A decision is due in Winter 2013.
Story Homes proposes to build approximately 570 houses on land to the South of the existing Magellan Park residential development.
Status: A number of public consultations were held between July 2012 and October 2012 at St Peter’s Church Hall. A planning application was submitted to Copeland Borough Council in June 2013 with a decision expected in Winter 2013.
Story Homes is proposing to build 142 dwellings, including 26 units of affordable housing, and open space on the site known as Cross Croft/Back Lane, Appleby. This includes the redevelopment of Bongate Cross which is currently used as four flats but would be demolished and provide for a site of family housing.
Status: The planning application was approved in July 2013. Work is currently ongoing to meet the condition requirements and further updates about the development programme will be released in the coming months.
