Matt helps growing company in its drive for consistent excellence

August 2015

As Story Homes grows into a national housebuilder, consistency and excellence is crucial – and one of the people helping to make sure both are achieved is new starter Matt Stevens.

Matt, from Congleton in Cheshire, has taken up the role of business analyst in the projects department and will work between Chorley and Carlisle.Matt Stevens

He said: “Story Homes is going through a huge change programme which will have an effect on every department within the business.

“With the plan to open regional offices, the need for standardised processes, procedures and practices to enable Story Homes to roll out a common operating model is essential.

“My role will be to help map those business processes using a common approach and using an application called Business Optix, which will be used to define system and functional requirements for Salesforce – our customer relationship management system (CRM) – and COINS our construction software package.”

Matt, who has previously worked for Jaguar Landrover and EasyJet, has an HND in Business Information Technology. He will also be involved in the Story Homes Integration (Audacia) project which will bring together the IT infrastructure for the company.

“The projects I am working on are going to make a real positive difference to people’s way of working and the way this company operates and I hope to be a key part of that very exciting and, what will at times be, a difficult journey,” he said.

Matt had no hesitation about choosing to make the move to Story Homes when he heard the company’s business plan and vision.

“To come on board at this stage of the company’s growth plan presents a real challenge for me but also has the potential for immense job satisfaction,” he said.

“I am very excited to be joining such an exciting and challenging time for the company.”

And Story Homes is living up to his expectations.

“I’ve really enjoyed my first few weeks at Story Homes – everyone I’ve met has been friendly and made me feel very welcome,” he said.

“The work ethic here is tremendous and it is clear everyone is working at full tilt and beyond!  It is also great to see people pulling in the right direction to continue to make this company succeed.”
