Crindledyke Eco-Homes Masterplan

June 2008

Local house builder, Story Homes propose to develop 29 hectares of land adjacent to Kingmoor Business Park to the north west of Carlisle. Their vision is to create a community, which promotes sustainable living and enjoys close proximity to employment uses, services and infrastructure. The proposed development will provide a new and exciting element to the city, drawing upon the rich and varied heritage of Carlisle and the local area.

Fred Story, Chief Executive of the Story Group commented, “I have lived in the Carlisle area all of my life and I have immense pride in the City and its heritage. The Story Group is committed to enhancing Carlisle’s reputation as a place to live, work and play. I am really excited by the Crindledyke development as it not only offers a fantastic opportunity for the City, but it is also provides a great opportunity for Story to develop a new sustainable community within Carlisle.”

Story Homes appreciate that public consultation is an important part of the planning process and in order to engage public interest and to explore any issues of public concern, they will be holding an early pre-planning application consultation day to show the first stages of their working plans for this development. The consultation event will be held at Unit 6, Atlantic House, Fletcher Way, Parkhouse, Carlisle, CA3 0LJ, from 2pm until 8pm on Wednesday 9th July.

This event will be followed later this year by a further pre-planning application consultation event on the preferred option proposal.
