Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2018

March 2018

We are pleased to be supporting the 11th annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), which sees employers and apprentices come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships, while encouraging even more people to choose them as a pathway to a great career.

The theme that the government has identified for NAW 2018 is ‘Apprenticeships Work’, with the aim of showcasing how apprenticeships work for individuals, employers, the community and the wider economy.

Story Homes is fully committed to bringing apprentices into our business; we launched our Apprenticeship Programme in 2016 and it has gone from strength to strength.

We have now launched our Apprenticeship Programme for 2018, and we are inviting young people interested in entering the construction industry to apply for our September intake.

We will be recruiting apprentice bricklayers and joiners this year for our sites in Cumbria and the North West. The successful candidates will be able to learn their trade while developing communication and teamwork skills, training towards an NVQ Level 2 and being supported by a dedicated team of site managers and the CITB.

Applications are now open and, once candidates have been shortlisted, the next steps will be a telephone interview and team assessment day. After being offered a position, our apprentices will then kick off their Story career in September by taking part in a five-day team building and induction programme.

As part of the scheme we offer a full development programme, including on-the-job training and the potential to move into trainee site management at the end of a successful programme.

For more information on the roles available and details on how to apply, visit: www.storyhomes.co.uk/careers

We will be sharing updates around NAW all week on our website and across our social media channels.
