Detailed Planning Application
Story Homes is progressing plans for the proposed development of 113 homes on land east of Sydney Road, Crewe known as ‘Crewe Green’. The site would create a sustainable development providing the local community with a range of high quality, high specification homes. The proposal would also make an important contribution to Cheshire East’s housing supply.
The draft Cheshire East Local Plan Strategy identifies the site as ‘Crewe Green’ under policy CS4 and allocates the site for housing. Policy CS4 allocated the site for up to 150 homes. The principle of residential development at the site has been established. This scheme therefore seeks to agree the detailed design through a full planning application.
The plan below shows the proposed residential development for 113 new homes. These homes will be accessed from a single point of vehicular access from Sydney Road. Public open space areas, boundary planting and tree-line avenues are also offered as part of this attractive and well connected scheme. The proposal will also tie into the improvements proposed to the Crewe Green roundabout, with a section of land provided to Cheshire East Council to facilitate the delivery of these works. The council has prepared a detailed set out requirements for this site and the scheme has taken into account these principles when designing the layout.

Meeting housing needs
The site will provide a range of family accommodation, with a mix of semi-detached and detached homes, that will help to meet local housing needs, including the provision of new affordable homes within the development.
