Reserved Matters Application
Story Homes secured reserved matters approval in November 2018 for detailed proposals for the redevelopment of this site for 92 high quality new homes. This follows Durham County Council granting outline planning permission for the principle of the redevelopment of the site in July 2017.
Our proposals would create a sustainable and integrated development that would make an important contribution to County Durham’s housing supply. The proposed development would deliver a mix of detached, semi-detached, and terraced dwellings, with 20% of these new homes being affordable.
You can now register your interest for the development.
Our proposals will support existing local businesses and help create additional employment through new opportunities for local sub-contractors and the supply chain.
Meeting Housing Needs
The site will provide a range of family homes that will help to meet local housing needs, including the provision of new affordable homes within the development.
Our proposals will contribute financially towards the review of speed limits and off-site highways works to the footpath and lighting on Chester Low Road, with detailed designs to be agreed with the highways authority.
Our proposals include the provision of on-site Green Infrastructure as well as financial contributions towards off-site Green Infrastructure through approved planning obligations for the site. The proposals will also make a financial contribution towards public art provision in the local area.
Financial contributions will be made towards improvements to local schools under approved planning obligations.
