Outline planning application
Land at Station Road, Middleton St George
Story Homes has submitted outline proposals to build up to 226 high quality new homes and to facilitate the provision of a primary school on this site. Our proposals would create a sustainable and integrated development that would make an important contribution to the Borough’s housing supply. The proposed development would deliver a mix of house types potentially including bungalows, terraced, semi detached, and detached dwellings. Some of these new homes may be affordable.
Full details of the submitted application can be viewed on Darlington Borough Council’s website using the application reference 16/00976/OUT. A decision on the application is anticipated in early Summer 2019.Register your interest
Our proposals will deliver any necessary highways works, with the detailed design and timescales for implementation to be agreed with the highways authority.
Our proposals will support existing local businesses and help create additional employment through new opportunities for local sub-contractors and the supply chain.
Public Open Space
Our proposals will include the creation of new open space for the benefit of local people and new residents alike.
Meeting Housing Needs
The site will provide a range of family homes that will help to meet local housing needs, including the potential provision of new affordable homes within the development or a contribution towards provision elsewhere.
Land is being provided within the site to facilitate the provision of a new primary school which will create new pupil spaces in the village.
A public exhibition took place at the Middleton St George Community Centre, Station Rd, Middleton St George, Darlington DL2 1JG between 3:00pm and 7:00pm on Tuesday 19 July 2016. Members of the project team were available to discuss the draft proposals and those attending had the opportunity to provide feedback.
We are currently seeking feedback on proposals by Monday 1 August 2016 and will be reviewing all of the comments received. Where possible this feedback will be considered as the proposals are developed. To view the information presented at the exhibition, click on the Consultation Board tabs above.
