Sue and Martin Milne

Chancel Place, Longhoughton

“We love everything about the house and we would recommend Story Homes to anyone looking for a new property.”

A couple have relocated from the North Tyneside coast to north Northumberland, in search of a new-build home in a peaceful location as they approach retirement.

Warehouse manager Martin Milne and his wife Sue, a sales and marketing executive, recently made the move to a three-bedroom semi-detached property at our Chancel Place development in Longhoughton.

Martin and Sue, who were previously living in Monkseaton, were looking to downsize as their children have now left home. Sue said: “We wanted a smaller home – yet still spacious and with a high specification – in a more peaceful area, and we’re so happy we found Chancel Place. We couldn’t have wished for a better location; the area is beautiful and once the development is completed it will look very special.

“We are also very pleased to have chosen a Story Home. They stand out from any other developer; you can immediately recognise a Story Homes development by the varied style of the houses. The quality appearance made us want to go into the marketing suite and enquire, and that quality has extended to all the staff we have dealt with too. The sales executive and site team have been absolutely first-class – they can’t do enough for us and they have made the process so easy and stress-free.”

The Milnes chose our ‘Hastings’ house type, which proved to be the ideal size and offered more modern living standards than their previous property. Sue explained: “As we are approaching retirement age, a new-build home seemed the best option as we won’t need to worry about ongoing maintenance costs that are often associated with an older property.”

Martin and Sue cite the large, open-plan kitchen/diner as their favourite aspect of their home: “We spend most of our time in the kitchen/diner and we are looking forward to the warmer months when we can keep the bi-fold doors open in the evening. The light and airy lounge is great too. Overall we love everything about the house and we would recommend Story Homes to anyone looking for a new property.”
