Prominent housing developments recognised with UK industry awards

Two of Story Homes’ largest developments have picked up UK property Awards at a national ceremony in London.

Crindledyke Farm in Carlisle and The Woodlands in Shotley Bridge were both named ‘Best Development Multiple Units’ for their regions.UK Property Awards 2013 - Story Homes

The UK property Awards evaluate each development on a number of different points, taking into account the project brief, design criteria, project goals, any challenges faced, the location, design layout, various house types, appearance and finish, safety and security, sustainability and innovation and the marketing campaigns for the development.

Stuart Shield, president of the International Property Awards, said, “In such a highly industrialized region as the United Kingdom, the standards for excellence are very high. These winning companies have stood out from the crowd by creating unique and innovative properties that elevate the character and appearance of UK towns and cities.”

Crindledyke Farm is Carlisle’s largest development, with permission for up to 850 properties, public open space, a school and commercial units. The development also includes a green travel plan and improvements and upgrades to the nearby network of footpaths, cycle paths and roads. More than 25 of the properties are already sold and occupied, despite the show homes only opening in May 2013. Crindledyke Farm has been more popular than anticipated and the three and four bedroom houses on phase one of Crindledyke Farm are selling well.

The Woodlands is Story Homes first development in North East England, offering 13 different property types with 2,3,4 and 5 bedrooms. The site has permission for up to 240 homes, with 36 already sold and occupied. The Woodlands is situated in the town of Shotley Bridge and the quality and high specification of the homes have gone down well with customers as they get to know the Story Homes product.crindledyke-1

Steve Errington, Managing Director of Story Homes said: “We are delighted that both Crindledyke Farm in Carlisle and The Woodlands in Shotley Bridge have been recognised with 5 star UK Property Awards. We are extremely proud of all of our developments and these two large schemes in particular have seen great success to date. It is pleasing to know that the industry has recognised this success and the hard work and dedication which has gone into the development by each and every member of our team.”
