Specification, choices and upgrades

Choosing Story Homes means you’re choosing a beautifully designed home that includes more compared to other builders. Designed with flexible, open plan spaces, French or bi-fold doors, stylish kitchens with islands and fully integrated appliances, discover our specification that’s anything but standard here.

Personalising your new home

This is the exciting part. Once you’ve reserved your new Story home, and depending on the build stage at the point of reservation, there are a number of ways in which you can personalise your home to reflect your style and personality.

The elements you can customise are the tiling colours in your bathrooms, as well as the design of your kitchen – including your door frontal and worktop colours, styles and finishes.

Upgrades and optional extras

There are also a number of upgrades and optional extras available to really add the finishing touches to your new home. Upgrades and optional extras to consider are:

– Additional tiling to bathrooms
– Internal door styles
– Flooring styles and finishes
– Kitchen upgrades and appliances
– Fitted wardrobes (available at selected developments)
– Electrical upgrades such as additional spotlights

Kitchen Designer tool

You can use our Kitchen Designer tool to see your choice of cupboards, worktops, appliances and flooring in a typical 3, 4 or 5-bedroom Story Homes kitchen and help you decide which combination works best.

To use this tool, simply create a customer account with us then begin designing. You can also save and share your designs with friends and family for that all-important second opinion.

Please note that the range of options available to choose from is dependent on the specification of your development and the house type you have purchased, along with the build stage of your new home. Please speak to your Sales Executive for more specific information.

It is important that you speak to your Sales Executive about your current build stage, selections still available to choose, and timescales for making these selections so that you understand what is available to you.

Please note Story Homes is not a bespoke housebuilder and any alterations you wish to make to your home must be done after you take legal ownership, at your own cost and risk. You can find more information about this in the specification brochure for your development.

The payment timescale for your upgrades and optional extras is dependent on exchange of contracts. Once items are ordered they are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or exchanged.

Where orders are placed before contracts are exchanged, 50% of the total must be paid as a non-refundable deposit with the remaining balance being paid on completion. Where orders are placed after contracts are exchanged, 25% of the total must be paid as a non-refundable deposit with the remaining balance being paid on completion.
