New appointments in our Newcastle office

July 2015

Story Homes has recruited three new members of its team to work from its Newcastle office.

The Newcastle office opened last year at Panther House, Newcastle Business Park, to provide a permanent base in the region and to support business growth in the area.

Story Homes has now recruited Head of Land (North East) Sarah Armstrong, Engineering Manager Keith Redford and North East Sales & Marketing Coordinator Rebecca Carr to work from the office.

Sarah, of Cleadon, South Tyneside, joins Story Homes from Barratt Homes where she was Senior Land Manager. She previously worked as Land Manager at Keepmoat Homes and Barratt Homes.
She said: “I decided to join Story Homes because I realised what great opportunities working for the company offers. Having met the team and speaking to them about their ambitions for the business and the culture of Story Homes, I was confident it was a good move to make.

“These are really exciting times for the company, which has huge growth opportunities – coming in at such an early stage is really interesting.

“My job is to look for the right sites. Not many people are building the high-end product that Story Homes offers, and I think it’s that quality and brand that will create a lot of opportunities.”

Story Homes is looking to expand significantly in the region in the next couple of years increasing its number of developments from its current two live sites at The Woodlands, Shotley Bridge, and Kingsbrook Wood, Middlesbrough, to around ten in the next few years.

Earlier this summer, Story Homes announced plans for two further developments in the North East: Dove Park and Brierdene in North Tyneside.

Keith, of Blyth, Northumberland, joins Story Homes from Persimmon Homes where he worked as Principal Engineer. Previous to that he worked for an engineering consultancy firm.

He said: “I joined Story Homes as I wanted to work for a quality housebuilder that produced a great standard of house with great customer service values.

“I’m hoping to help the North East region to establish itself and hit its business targets. I take pride in the quality of the work which we deliver to customers.”

Rebecca, of Northumberland, joined Story Homes from Bellway Homes North East where she worked as marketing coordinator.

She said “I decided to join Story Homes because of the quality of the product and I’d heard good things from other people who work here.

“We’re new across in the North East, and as this is an opportunity to be in at the beginning I’m getting involved in a big variety of things, which is really exciting.”

Chief Executive Steve Errington said: “I’d like to welcome everyone to our team.

“This further expansion of our Newcastle operation will drive forward our ambitious plans for growth in the region.”
