North Tyneside homes snapped up by buyers

January 2016

The first people to reserve homes at our forthcoming North Tyneside developments – Dove Park and Brierdene – celebrated with champagne this weekend.

Several buyers emerged from one of the busiest development launches ever hosted by Story Homes, as scores of house hunters came to find out more about the properties on offer.

Eager home buyers queued at Tynemouth’s Grand Hotel on Saturday, where our staff were available to take reservations for homes at the Rake Lane and Backworth developments.

Husband and wife Dale and Greta Fowler were the first to secure their new home at Dove Park, having been first in the queue.

The retired couple, who have lived in Tynemouth for the last 30 years, left the launch event with champagne and flowers to anticipate the completion of their three bedroom home with a south facing garden.

Dale, a former civil engineer, said: “We had been looking for a new home and we didn’t want to move out of the area. We really wanted a new house to keep the maintenance down so we can enjoy our retirement.

“The quality of Story Homes’ properties really impressed us and I can’t fault the company in how helpful it has been.”

Story Homes’ sales director Louise McGuckin was on hand to congratulate the Fowlers on their purchase.

She added: “It’s fantastic to be able to secure the Fowlers a new home for their retirement. The Rake Lane area will really benefit from the Dove Park development which brings with it nine different house types and beautiful homes.”

Meanwhile Chris Allan and Emma Johnson were overjoyed after securing their perfect home at Dove Park.

The pair already overlook the Dove Park site from their current rented property.

Chris, a teacher, and Emma, a pharmacy dispenser, are first-time buyers and had aspired to buy their own home for some time.

The couple’s daughter, Lauren, a pupil at nearby Preston Grange Primary School, said she couldn’t wait to begin decorating her new room.

Chris, who grew up in the area, said: “We’ve been looking for a home for a while so when this opportunity at Dove Park came up we were really excited. When we saw the quality of the properties from Story Homes we knew this is where we just had to be.

“It’s a great feeling having dreamt about this for a while and then leaving the launch as home owners. To be able to live somewhere where I grew up, in this type of house, is fantastic.”

Scores of other house hunters spoke to Story Homes staff about buying at the two developments over the course of the day.

Dove Park is ideally situated near to the coast, with easy access to Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and Newcastle.

The 180-house Brierdene development at Backworth is on land next to Backworth Hall and Golf Club, and is close to metro links and the A19.
