Our very own Sales Executive, Angela, recently purchased and moved into The Hewson, our old show home at The Ridings, the development where she is currently based.
Angela loved the quality and layout of our homes so much that she just had to purchase one for herself. And she’s not the first, with many of our staff members also living in a Story home, highlighting how confident and proud we all are of the product we sell to our customers.
Angela has been with the business for nearly seven years and has seen many different house types in her time. So we wanted to know why she chose to move into her very own Story home, and in particular, why she chose The Hewson.
What made you want to buy your own Story home?
“I have been selling Story homes for nearly seven years and have always known that Story Homes are the only house builder that would meet all of my expectations and the standards I expect from a new home.
“The quality of the interior specification is high with many luxury features included as standard, I particularly love the induction hob as it’s cleaner and greener.”
Why did you choose The Hewson and how does it suit your lifestyle?
“The decision was made as soon as I saw The Hewson show home at The Ridings, I thought the design and open plan living was just perfect. I loved the choices that were already fitted in the show home, the kitchen cupboards, worktop and bathroom tiles were exactly what I would have chosen, so when it was released for sale I jumped at the opportunity!
“With the fantastic weather lately, we’ve been dining alfresco which works perfectly with the large French doors in the dining area that lead out to the patio.”
What are your favourite design features?
“I love the open plan, spacious layout of the kitchen, dining and family room which allows me to socialise whilst entertaining, coupled with the large patio doors that provide a wonderful light and airy feel.
“All the bedrooms are an impressive size, particularly the main bedroom which has a dressing area, great for getting ready on a morning. There are en-suites to two of the bedrooms which was a tick in the box, especially with two teenage granddaughters. There’s a door to the garage from the hallway, which again was a plus point and is perfect on a winters day when you don’t want to go outside into the cold to access the garage.”
Why did you choose The Ridings?
“I knew I wanted to live here as soon as I started working on the development. It has a strong community feel and people always acknowledge you when out walking, it really is a lovely place to live.
“The location of The Ridings is ideal, it’s on the outskirts of Carlisle but close enough to the town and motorway, and it’s well positioned for visiting family. I also love exploring the country walks in the local area too.”
Tell us about your new build journey?
“I previously lived in an older property which requires a lot of upkeep maintenance wise, energy bills were higher and there was often unexpected costs. A new Story home was the only thing on the agenda for our next move – nothing else on the market compared.
“I recommend Story Homes to everyone I know. All my friends and family who have visited have been very impressed with our new home, from the beautiful exterior of the house to the high quality interior. The reaction is always “wow!” as soon as they step inside.”
