Story Homes begins work on next two phases at Edgehill Park, Whitehaven, introducing new ‘Scenik Collection’ as 500-home milestone is reached locally

May 2026

We have officially started construction on the next two phases of our flagship Edgehill Park development in Whitehaven, marking another key milestone in the long-term delivery of high-quality homes in the town.

The new phases will deliver 158 homes in total and include the introduction of our new ‘Scenik Collection’ – a contemporary sub-brand designed to reflect modern lifestyles, flexible living needs and evolving housing expectations.

The Scenik Collection offers a fresh approach to contemporary terrace living, combining distinctive architectural detailing with practical, well-considered layouts. The homes are designed with a particular focus on first-time buyers and downsizers, offering low-maintenance living with adaptable internal spaces, private outdoor areas and access to high-quality public green space.

Work is now underway at Edgehill Park following the granting of planning permission earlier this year, marking the next phase in its long-term delivery and continuing our established presence in Whitehaven.

Alongside this milestone, we have now legally completed 500 homes across our developments in Whitehaven, underlining our long-standing contribution to the town’s housing supply and wider community.

Over the past 16 years, we have played an active role in Whitehaven’s growth, supporting local employment, skills development and economic activity through both direct and indirect opportunities.

Hayley Blair, Operations Director for Story Homes Cumbria & Scotland said:

“We’re delighted to have started work on the next phases at Edgehill Park. This is a significant moment for the development and for Whitehaven, which has been an important location for Story Homes for many years. Reaching 500 legal completions across our developments locally is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it reflects the strength of the communities we’ve helped to create.

Phil Fell, Senior Land Manager for Story Homes Cumbria & Scotland, continued:

“The introduction of our Scenik Collection in Phase 6 is particularly exciting. It builds on our experience and responds directly to how people want to live today – with thoughtfully designed, flexible homes set within attractive, well-connected neighbourhoods.”

Phase 7 will bring forward a further range of thoughtfully designed homes, continuing the established character of Edgehill Park and ensuring the development grows in a cohesive and considered way.

The wider scheme continues to prioritise energy-efficient design and well-planned outdoor spaces, supporting a neighbourhood that encourages everyday convenience, connectivity and quality of life for residents.

Construction is now underway, with the first homes from the new phases expected to be released for sale in summer 26.
