The team provides opportunities for people with physical, learning and unseen disabilities, including autism, to enjoy football in an inclusive and supportive environment. Having recently completed its first ever league season with an impressive third-place finish, the team went on to secure further success at a tournament at the weekend, winning the Premier Division Summer Cup.
We sponsored the team’s new playing kit, which arrived ahead of its final league fixture. Until then, the players had been playing in borrowed shirts, making the new strips a particularly welcome addition.
The new shirts have already made their mark, with the team wearing them as they lifted the Summer Cup at the weekend. The squad will now prepare for the Autumn League, where they will look to build on an already fantastic first season.
The sponsorship comes as we continue to play an active role in the local area through our new Killingworth Gate development at Killingworth Moor. We have recently taken on the role of Principal Contractor for the first phase, with groundworks and infrastructure now progressing on site.
Killingworth Gate will deliver 169 new homes, ranging from two to six bedrooms, including affordable housing, alongside new green spaces, landscaping and tree planting to help create a new community in the area. Our development’s marketing suite is also now open, with customers able to find out more and reserve their new home.
Kye Bradley, Sales Director at Story Homes North East, said:
“We’re delighted to support Killingworth FC’s Pan Disability team and provide them with their new playing kit. As we build our new Killingworth Gate development nearby, supporting local organisations and making a positive contribution to the community is really important to use.
“Finishing third in their first ever league season and then gong on to win the Premier Division Summer Cup is a fantastic achievement, and we’re delighted to have been able to support the team. We wish them every success as they head into the Autumn League.”
