Story Homes raises more than £12,500 for air ambulance charities through regional golf days

We are delighted to share that we have raised more than £12,500 for our charity partners, Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) and North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA), following three corporate golf days held across our regions.

The golf days took place in Cumbria, the North East and the North West and brought together colleagues, subcontractors and business partners to support two charities that provide vital, life-saving services across the North of England.

Funds were raised through team entries, hole sponsorships and raffle prizes generously donated by our supply chain partners. The fantastic support from everyone involved helped make each event a success and contributed to an incredible fundraising total.

Each year, Story Homes colleagues vote for the charities they would like to support through company and employee fundraising activities. For 2026/27, colleagues selected GNAAS and NWAA in recognition of the essential work they carry out for communities across the regions where we operate.

Hayley Blair, Cumbria & Scotland Operations Director at Story Homes, said:

“Our golf days bring colleagues, subcontractors and business partners together around a shared purpose: raising funds for charities that make a real difference in our regions.

“Raising more than £12,500 is a fantastic result, made possible by the generosity of everyone who took part, sponsored a hole or donated a prize. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make the events a success and support the work of both charities.”

Great North Air Ambulance Service relies heavily on charitable donations to continue operating its critical care service across the North East, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

Commenting on the donation, Natasha Banks, Senior Corporate Relationship Manager at GNAAS, said:

“We’re grateful to have the continued support of Story Homes and receive another generous donation from their golf days.

“We are reliant on charitable donations and need to raise £10.7 million a year to remain operational, so this money will enable our critical care teams to continue helping severely ill or injured patients across the North East, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.”

North West Air Ambulance Charity also shared its thanks for the support received through the events.

Chris Andrews, Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer at NWAA, said:

“Huge thanks to all at Story Homes for this wonderful contribution to our lifesaving work. So much time and effort goes into making the golf days a success, and we are so grateful to everyone who was involved in the events.

“Without the likes of Story Homes and those who took part in the golf days, we would not be able to continue providing lifesaving emergency medical intervention across the region. Our pre-hospital care is thanks to our incredible supporters and we are hugely grateful.”

A huge thank you to everyone who entered a team, sponsored a hole, donated a prize or supported the events. Together, you’ve helped raise valuable funds for two charities that make a difference when people need them most.
