Consultation for proposed new homes in Darlington, County Durham

April 2014

Story Homes is proposing to build new homes in Darlington, bringing a number of benefits to the area. The homes, on land East of Darlington known as ‘The Eastern Fringe’, will provide much needed housing in the area.new-homes-in-darlington-proposal

The proposed plans include up to 700 new 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family homes as well as new playing pitches, local services, high quality landscaping and the creation of areas of community parkland.

New development will inevitably bring economic benefits to the area including the creation of jobs for sub contractors and the supply chain through the life of the development, knock on support for local businesses and help to achieve the local authority’s future housing supply needs.

Story Homes and Bellway Homes, who are also proposing to build the new homes, will be holding a public exhibition on Wednesday 23April to let members of the public view the plans and have an opportunity comment and discuss before final proposals are submitted later this year.

The exhibition will take place between 3pm and 7pm at Red Hall Community Centre, Headingly Crescent, Darlington, DL1 2ST.
