First residents move into St Andrew’s View

August 2017

After 20 years of visiting the Lake District at the weekends and staying in a static caravan in Greystoke, Brian and Nicky have retired and moved into their brand new dream home at our St Andrew’s View development.

The retired couple, who bought off plan, fell in love with their four-bedroom detached Boston home as soon as they saw the plans for it.

The couple decided that once they retired they were going to make the move to Cumbria so that they could live the lifestyle they dreamed of. With being avid fell runners, location was important to them. As they were looking to retire, reducing the maintenance required was also high on their list of priorities.

Brian commented; “Our static caravan was in Greystoke and Story Homes had an application for a development in the village, so one weekend we decided to go and take a look around a Show Home. Having lived in a new build in Rochdale, we were absolutely blown away by the difference in quality.

“The standard specification was so high and the homes are so well built. So we decided that once we decided to make the move, we were going to buy a Story Home.”

Nicky continued; “I received an email from Story Homes about a development coming soon in Thursby and took to google maps. It was perfect! Only 10 minutes to the M6 and easy access to the Lake District. Plus, it’s a lovely village, with a great pub and the community have been so welcoming. We feel at home already.

“Also, our home faces east – which now that we are retired is spot on. When we were working we wanted a south facing garden so we had the sun in the evening for when we got home. Now, we get the sun all during the day in the garden and kitchen, and the living room is nice and cool in the evening.

“We’re just so pleased. It’s been such a smooth process and we’re delighted to have made the move. Our Site Manager Barry and his team have been so helpful whilst we have been moving in, nothing has been too much trouble!”

St. Andrew’s View features a choice of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes including bungalows, terraced, semi-detached and detached properties. As well as boasting high specification interiors these homes offer up to 1,905 sq ft of living space and feature attractive exteriors incorporating sandstone, brick and render, adding to the charm of the area and creating the beautiful street scenes for which Story Homes is renowned.

Our Sales Executive Tracey is on hand at our marketing suite at St Andrew’s View to offer advice from 10.30am until 4.30pm Thursday to Monday.
