Cairns Chase is a stunning collection of 148 two, three and four bedroom homes. Open space and a feature entrance will create a beautiful aspirational development, with a stone finish to achieve attractive facades. Sunday’s event was an exclusive launch for customers who had signed up to the mailing list for the development. The site will officially open on Friday 14 February.

Laura and Robert Wareing were the first buyers, reserving a four bedroom detached Warwick house type. Laura, 32, Robert, 34 and their two young sons James, 3 and Jackson, 1, will be moving into their new home at Cairns Chase in the summer. Laura, who owns Little Star nursery in Harrington said: “We have been looking at Story Homes developments for a while now and we were here early this morning to make sure we got the plot we wanted at Cairns Chase. I love the open plan layout of the house and the character, style and overall feel of the house and the development. We can’t wait to move in now.”

Louise McGuckin, head of sales for Story Homes said of Cairns Chase: “The launch event seen a great turn out of people keen to live in a Story Home close to Workington. We are delighted to be able to open our sales cabin on site this week and invite all interested customers to come along to meet our sales adviser Debbie for a chat about our homes.

“People appreciate the quality of the Story Homes reputation after seeing the nearby Mabel Wood development in Great Clifton completed and the Whins Farm Close development in High Harrington under construction. Our customers can witness for themselves the delivery of high quality homes combined with an above average specification, making us the ideal choice when buying a new home.”

Anna Casson, 24, and Chris Scurr, 25, purchased a four bedroom detached Warwick house type using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme. The couple, who work at Sellafield, rent a property in Frizington but wanted to buy their first home together.

Anna said: “We had looked at Story Homes in Whitehaven and Dearham but we really wanted to buy at Stainburn. We loved the house type, including the layout and the garden. We joined the mailing list so that we would be first to hear once the properties at Cairns Chase were released.”

Chris added: “We like the fact that we can move in and we don’t have to do anything to the house. And there is a lot of room for us, enough room to play my guitar and also have a home gym!”

Cairns Chase is named after Freddie Cairns, the self styled ‘Duke of Workington’ who lived there in the late 1800’s. The development is Story Homes first development close to Workington.

Following the opening on Friday 14 February, the marketing suite at Cairns Chase will be open between Thursday and Monday, 10.30am – 4.30pm.
