Kerry Jackson, a school teacher at St Bedes RC Primary School in Carlisle, and her husband, Colin, moved into their new home in July. Kerry said: “We had wanted to move for a while but became more pro-active after our dog, Enzo, had several strokes early in the year. We were living in a three-storey property and he was finding the stairs such a struggle. So, when it came down to it, we moved for our dog.”
Kerry continued: “I had lived in Thursby a few years previously and really liked the village. As my sons are now older – one has just graduated with a Masters in History of Art at Edinburgh University and the other is in his first year at Leeds studying Physics – I felt that village life would be a good move again.”
With our part exchange scheme we buy your property for up to 100 per cent of its market value, effectively acting as a cash buyer for the house.
Kerry said: “Using part exchange was such an easy and hassle-free experience – the scheme literally gets you moving!
“The offer made to us was what we wanted for the sale of our property, so we accepted immediately. Two estate agents came and valued the house, a for sale board was put up and we were contacted for viewings when there were prospective buyers.
“We purchased the Wellington-style property as we fell in love with its layout. There’s a fantastic dining and kitchen area at the back of the house that looks onto a large walled garden. The four bedrooms are all a really good size – as all our visitors have noted! The bathroom is perfect too, so light and airy.”
Commenting on the service she received Kerry said: “The whole process was seamless and the customer service at Story Homes was fabulous. We dealt with Julie when we first decided to move, then Tracey to complete the sale. Both are extremely friendly – Tracey always has time for a chat if you see her on site.”
Tracey Brown, Sales Executive at Story Homes, said: “It was a pleasure to help Kerry and her family with their move; it’s always great when homeowners qualify for our part exchange scheme. It’s a stress-free way to buy and sell your home with no chain. Plus, there are no estate agent fees, and the buyers can stay in their own home until their brand new home is ready to move into.”
Kerry concluded: “I have felt completely at home from day one – I was actually originally dreading the move. I now love my journey home every evening from work. As I get to the roundabout at Orton Grange, I look across to see Caldbeck Fells and feel so relaxed.”
