We’re shining a spotlight on our customers Chloe and Rob Edwardson, a secondary school teacher and technician, who decided to invest in their forever home when their wedding was pushed back due to the pandemic. They chose the 4-bedroom detached Wilson at St John’s Manor in Callerton, and although there wasn’t a Wilson show home at the time, they fell in love with the design and digital images of this home so much that they decided to take the plunge.
The Wilson is a characterful home featuring an open plan kitchen, dining and family area with bi-fold doors leading out onto the paved patio and turfed garden, ideal for extending the living space. The lounge has a beautiful bay window and upstairs you’ll find four spacious bedrooms, a luxurious en-suite to the main bedroom and a family bathroom. It’s the perfect family home.

You weren’t looking for a new build to begin with. What changed your mind?
“We didn’t plan to move home until after our wedding, but during the pandemic our wedding was cancelled so we decided to move ahead with finding a new forever home. We wanted somewhere big enough where we could see ourselves living for a while.
“We never had any intention of buying a new build property. We’d looked at many older properties in the area and even put offers in on a few. However, we decided to book an appointment at St John’s Manor one Sunday afternoon to have a look.
“When we arrived, our Sales Executive, Amber, was so welcoming and not pushy at all. She showed us the different homes available and let us look around the show homes, we loved the open space and floorplans. The standard of finish in the kitchens and bathrooms were fabulous and it didn’t feel like a standard new build.”
Why did you choose The Wilson and how did you find reserving ‘off plan’?
“We immediately fell in love with the look of the Wilson. The bi-fold doors and open plan kitchen/dining/family area were a massive draw alongside the additional bonus of a stone-fronted exterior on the particular plot we chose, which sounded amazing.
“Unfortunately, there was no show home of The Wilson available to view at the time. However, our Sales Executive, Amber, reassured us with countless measurements, plot visits and digital images on how amazing the property would be. We immediately reserved on the day knowing how competitive the housing market had been post-lockdown. We then visited other developments to see Wilsons that were being built where we could get an idea of the external size.”

How was your experience?
“The process has been seamless throughout. We’ve been well informed the whole way through and everyone we’ve dealt with has been so helpful, from our choices appointment to our home demo. Although we did choose a few upgrades and optional extras to add the finishing touches to our home, we were amazed at what was included as standard and how much choice there was, like kitchen cupboard styles and bathroom tiles. It was miles apart from any other competitors in the area and we would 100% recommend Story Homes to friends and family.”
