We are proud to announce that an incredible £20,658 has been raised for our 2025/26 charity partners, the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) and the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA), following three successful corporate golf days.
The events took place across Cumbria, the North East, and the North West, bringing together subcontractors, partners, and employees who entered teams to take part in a Texas Scramble competition format. Each team contributed an entry fee to the charity in return for hole sponsorship, while a host of prizes were kindly donated for raffles – with all proceeds going directly to support the life-saving work of GNAAS and NWAA.
Prizes were awarded to the winning teams, as well as for the ‘nearest to the pin’ and ‘longest drive’ competitions. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of Story Homes’ business partners and supporters, the golf days were once again a fantastic success – raising thousands of pounds for the company’s chosen charities.
Hayley Blair, Sales & Group Marketing Director for Story Homes, said: “Our annual golf days are a brilliant way to bring together our network of subcontractors, partners, and colleagues to raise money for causes that make a real difference across our regions.
“We’re delighted to have raised such a significant amount for both GNAAS and NWAA this year, and we’d like to thank everyone who entered teams, sponsored holes, or donated prizes. The generosity shown by our partners and staff was overwhelming.”
Each year, Story Homes colleagues vote for charity partner(s) to support through company and colleague fundraising, with a variety of activities and events taking place throughout the year.
For 2025/26, GNAAS and NWAA were chosen because of the critical, life-saving air ambulance services they provide across the North of England, responding to emergencies and delivering advanced medical care when every second counts.
Natasha Banks, CSR & Philanthropy Specialist at GNAAS said: “As a charity, we do not receive government funding and need to raise £9.3m a year to remain operational, so this money will enable our critical care teams to continue helping severely ill or injured patients across the North East, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.”
Chris Andrews, Corporate Partnership Officer at NWAA said: “The three Story Homes golf days were a tremendous success, and the North West Air Ambulance Charity extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. It is only thanks to donations like this that we can continue to help the people of the North West when they need us most.
“Serving 8 million people from Carlisle to Crewe, our highly skilled crews operate 365 days a year using three helicopters and four critical care cars. This vital service costs £18 million annually and relies entirely on donations.”
