A place to call home in Lancaster

February 2017

After three years of renting around the North West Dr Elgendy, his wife Sara and three children have finally found a place to call home at Story Homes’ High Wood development in Lancaster.

Geriatric consultant Dr Elgendy recently transferred from Barrow in Furness and the family felt it was time to settle down and buy a house to call home rather than renting.

The family had their heart set on moving to Lancaster as it has excellent grammar schools and it’s a great city to live in. The family looked around our High Wood development and secured their dream home a five-bedroom detached Mayfair house type.

The Mayfair is an executive five-bedroom detached property with integral double garage, providing over 1,905 sqft. Walk in through the light and airy hallway which leads to a fully fitted kitchen, dining and family room, which has stylish French doors leading out to a patio and turfed rear garden … ideal for family time and entertaining. The lounge also brings the outdoors in with French doors lighting up the room and also comes with a feature fireplace. The study completes the ground floor. Upstairs there are five good sized bedrooms, with the master and second bedroom both having en-suite shower rooms.

As the family have previously been renting, Sara has been enjoying furnishing and decorating their family home, she said: “We loved the character and design of our Story Home. They have designed their homes for modern living and with families in mind.

“Our home is in a great location set in the heart of the development and there is so much space both inside and outside the house. We’ve got a really large rear garden which backs on to woodland so we’re not overlooked. Both the lounge and kitchen / family room have French doors leading out to the garden so it’s a great space for the children to play and we’re looking forward to the summer months where we can really enjoy this space.

High Wood is set in a beautiful location with its own tree lined entrance. The development has been designed with the outdoors in mind, making use of vast open space and established greenery offering an element of countryside living whilst remaining in the hub of the city.

Sara continued: “We really enjoy living at High Wood and next to the Residence building. We’re in a great location both close to the city centre but having a rural feel.

“We have had a great experience with Story Homes from the site team to the sales team. They explained everything about our home and quickly resolved anything we weren’t aware of. I cannot praise the team enough.”

These stylish 3, 4 and 5-bedroom properties on this sought after development are finished with stone, brick and render and are conveniently situated close to all of the amenities that Lancaster has to offer, good local schools and transport links.
