Mark was selected from over 18,000 site managers across the UK to win one of only 400 Quality Awards. This is the fourth NHBC Pride in the Job Award to be awarded to a Story Homes employee.
Mark has worked within the Homes division of the Story Group for 10 years. Starting as a bricklayer, the 37-year old has worked his way up to be one of the companies top Site Managers. Mark said ‘I am really pleased to have won a Pride in the Job award. Working for Story Homes to build properties where people want to live and where communities can thrive gives me an immense sense of achievement. I’m proud to have been able to add another award to the companies’ already impressive collection.’
Fred Story, Chief Executive, added ‘Summerpark is our largest housing development to date and it is essential that we maintain our outstanding reputation for quality and design. That requires dedication and hard work from the whole team, especially from our Site Managers. Mark is thoroughly deserving of this award and his commitment has generated not only a prestigious award to be proud of but also a fantastic development.’
Already shortlisted for a Scottish Home award earlier this year and awarded the UK Daily Mail Property Award for Best Development in Dumfries 2008; the Summerpark development is located on the outskirts of Dumfries in the beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway and offers a wide selection of housing types from stylish two bedroom apartments up to four bedroom detached, executive properties. When complete the development will comprise around 1,000 homes, playing fields, several children’s play areas, woodlands, a nature reserve and community facilities.
Mark will be presented with his Quality Award at a black tie dinner in Glasgow on Friday, where he will also learn if he has been nominated for a ‘Top 100 Seal of Excellence’ or Regional Award winner. Winning a Regional Award will put Mark through to the final round of the competition in January 2010, when the UK’s three Supreme winners will be announced at a glitzy gala awards ceremony in London.
Along with the extensive Summerpark development Story Homes also has another development in South West Scotland at Queensberry Gardens, Powfoot. In addition, Story Homes operate across Cumbria and current developments include Vallum Gardens, Turnstone Park and Hanson Place in Carlisle and Rheda in West Cumbria.
