Plans have been submitted for a development of new homes on land off Greengate Crescent in Levens, Kendal.
We are seeking reserved matters consent for 49 homes on the site with associated infrastructure.
The proposal includes a mix of two, three, four and five bedroom properties, and some of these new homes will be affordable. The homes will range from terraced houses, bungalows, semi-detached houses and detached homes.
We will use local sub contractors and suppliers where possible, delivering economic benefits and job creation back into local area.
If successful the New Homes Bonus of circa £377,000 will be reinvested in local services over a six year period.
Our proposals will create a sustainable and integrated development that would make an important contribution to the district’s housing supply.
Siobhan Sweeney, Development Planner for Story Homes said: “We are seeking reserved matters consent for a new development of 49 homes in Levens. This follows consultation in May 2016 with the local community. We have taken on board their positive comments and the improvements they would like to see to included in our proposed plans.
“We are renowned for striking street scenes on our developments and we have taken on board comments from the local community regarding the use of materials to reflect the rural character of Levens.
“We have designed the development sympathetically with local residents needs in mind. We have responded to surface water drainage concerns in the village by proposing a soak-away system which manages surface water across the whole site.”
If planning is approved, we would look to start work on site in March 2017 with the first homes completed by Autumn 2017.
