Bio Blitz boost for Friends of Brierdene

June 2016

Brierdene

Story Homes has donated £500 to North Tyneside community group Friends of Brierdene to support its annual Family Bio Blitz and Moth Night.

The money will in part be used for the growing of wild flowers from seed in propagator trays with local schools and other members. This enables Friends of Brierdene to improve the density of wild flowers in the wildlife site.

The annual Family Bio Blitz – which this year is on Saturday 10th September – will involve participation from the local community, including a number of schools in North Tyneside. Families will help identify and record all of the species they can find on the day, with help from various wildlife experts.

The Moth Night will be conducted by Tom Tams and the Northern Moth Recorder which is a popular educational event for families.

Story Homes is committed to supporting local charities and community groups in the areas around its developments. For more information, or to apply for sponsorship, visit: https://www.storyhomes.co.uk/the-story-difference/sustainable-story/
