A nine-year-old budding actor has made his screen debut as the star of our Christmas mini-film.
Troy Atherton, from Broughton Moor, takes centre stage in The Magic of a Story Home, which went live online last Friday.
Our video tells the story of a little boy who wakes up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve to check whether Santa has been. As Troy wanders downstairs, Builder Bear has to do all he can to stop Santa from being spotted.
It ends with Builder Bear waving off Santa, having successfully delivered Troy’s gifts and the magic of Christmas still firmly intact.
Troy’s dad, Steve, said: “Troy absolutely loves acting and is always getting involved with school productions, but this is the first time he’s done any filming. It was really exciting for us all and he enjoyed the whole experience of being on set and seeing how much time and effort goes into an advert.
“He’s certainly caught the bug for being in front of the camera, so watch this space!”
The video was filmed at a new show home in North Tyneside.
Catherine Cannon, Group marketing manager at Story Homes, said: “We were really pleased with the response to our first Christmas video last year, which saw Builder Bear decorate a Story Home for a young family who had just moved in.
“This year we had to think creatively to come up with a new storyline. We worked with award-winning animation studio Cloudscape to bring our ideas to life, and are delighted with the finished result.”
Lou Kneath-Gilbertson from Cloudscape, said: “We have been working with Story Homes for a number of years now and it has been brilliant to watch Builder Bear come to life in some of the animated videos that we have worked on. He is a great character and one that really resonates with children moving into their new Story Home, so it’s lovely to see him helping Santa out in the latest video. It was really fun to film in such a beautifully decorated home.”
