Burneside Cricket Club supported with new whites

November 2018

The junior members of Burneside Cricket Club will be starting their next season in style after being kitted out by Story Homes.

The Kendal based juniors have been kitted out with whites to wear on match days as well as equipment including a bowling machine, stumps, balls and a speed gun. Team members say that the kit will enable the team to look part of the club, have ownership and represent the cricket club at games both home and away.

Ryan Airey, the coordinator of the junior team at Burneside Cricket Club, said: “We are so grateful to Story Homes for sponsoring us. Story Homes is an established house builder in Kendal that everyone has heard of. We know the company does a lot of work in the local area and it’s nice to know they are willing to support people around the community.

“The sponsorship money makes a huge difference to a local team like us. Without donations like this we wouldn’t be able to function. We are forever fundraising, and such generous donations like this are much needed. The likes of kits and equipment aren’t cheap but thankfully we now have a new kit for the season and the upcoming seasons ahead, to go with our brand new three lane practice facility.

“We believe it’s really important to encourage the children in the area to get out and play as much sport as possible, in a fun and safe environment. It’s great to be able to offer that and it’s showing with the growing number of kids playing cricket at Burneside CC. The new kit and improved facilities allows us really improve their chances to go on and play cricket at a higher level.

“Receiving this sponsorship makes it a lot easier for us so we want to say thank you very much.”

Clare Wilson, Sales Manager at Story Homes, said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer our support and sponsor the junior teams at Burneside Cricket Club. The cricket team are an integral part of the community and hopefully this support will help the team go from strength to strength.

“We are extremely proud of our track record in supporting organisations like this and our role in building sustainable communities.

“We are expanding our presence in the North West and are dedicated to reaching out to the local community and supporting local clubs and organisations.

“We hope the children love their new kits and we wish all the teams every success in the season.”
