Eden Valley Hospice’s ‘Charity of the Year’ partnership with Story Homes and Story Contracting has raised over £4,000.

Over the last 12 months, colleagues from the homes, construction, rail and plant divisions have taken part in a wide range of fundraising events to support Eden Valley Hospice. The staff have raised a fantastic £4,387.39 to support the care and activities provided to local adults and children with life limiting illnesses.

Fred Story, founder of both Story Homes and Story Contracting said of the partnership: “We have been proud to partner with the hospice over the last year, with my colleagues raising a fantastic amount of money for the charity. We have had a lot of fun along the way and we are pleased that our activities can support such a worthwhile local charity which is close to the hearts of many staff, family and friends of Story’s.”

During the charity partnership the members of staff hosted a variety of raffles, cooked up a range of mouth watering cakes for a Cupcake Party and Ian Wood, Leah Armstrong and Tracy Calvert released their inner superhero at the Hospice’s Zip Slide event in Carlisle.

Chris Bray, Head of Marketing and Income Generation, said “Everybody at the Hospice is overwhelmed at the amount of money raised by the staff at Story Homes and Story Contracting. The money raised will help our passionate team of nurses and specialist doctors care for and support local adults, children and families with life limiting illnesses. We have all enjoyed working with the members of staff at Story over the last 12 months and we hope to work again with them in the future.”
