Staff from Story Homes joined a crowd of hundreds to celebrate the big reveal of DIY SOS in Cumbria.
Thirteen colleagues, including bricklayers and joiners, worked on the BBC programme to renovate a house for a local family in Abbeytown.
The team worked alongside other local tradesmen over ten days to make the house suitable for the requirements of the family and their disabled son Noah.
Each and every one put in long hours and gave their all to see the family have a beautiful home fit for their needs and the demands of Noah’s disabilities.
The big reveal took place on Thursday 11th July and the family were moved to tears by the hard work and effort of every local business who gave their time, skills and resources to make the renovation happen.
Staff from Story Homes went above and beyond to help complete the garden area too, making it suitable for Noah to play in and the family to enjoy.
A huge thank you to Joiners Lee Boyd, Brian Elliot, Dominic Hillon, James Hunter, Robert Graham, Willy Hall and Wayne Cartwright, as well as bricklayers Brian Morrey, Tony McLaughlan, Craig Marrs, Mark Wight, Phil Chandler and Carl Robertson.
The show DIY SOS: Big Build – Cumbria is due to air in Winter 2013/14.
