Story Homes will consult with the public next week about proposed plans to build new homes on sites in Throckley and Hartlepool.
The award-winning housebuilder is looking to build approximately 72 new high quality family homes on land south of Newburn Road in Throckley and a proportion of approximately 200 new three, four and five bedroom homes on land to the south of Elwick Road, Tunstall, Hartlepool.
The Throckley site has already been allocated for residential development in the adopted Newcastle Gateshead Core Strategy and has a Planning Committee resolution to approve outline planning permission for up to 76 dwellings.
Proposed plans for the Hartlepool site include a proportion of homes to be delivered by Story Homes, as well as self-build plots for people to develop their own residential properties which are being promoted by Tunstall Homes.
Both developments also include high quality landscaping features and will inevitably bring economic benefits, including the creation of local jobs for sub-contractors and knock on support for local businesses.
Story Homes Planner, Richard Newsome, said: “This is an early stage in the development process of both these North East sites and we are keen to hear local people’s views from the outset.
“Our consultation events are an opportunity for the community to understand the proposals and come forward with comments to help shape our plans for development.”
Story Homes is renowned for designing and building developments which are in keeping with the local surroundings, through the use of local materials and design cues.
The public consultation event for new homes in Throckley will take place on Tuesday 8 December between 3pm and 7pm at Throckley Community Hall, Back Victoria Terrace, Newcastle, NE15 9EL.
The public consultation event for new homes in Hartlepool will take place on Wednesday 9 December between 3pm and 7pm at Hartlepool Cricket Club, Church Park Drive, Hartlepool, Cleveland, TS26 0DA.
