Dream Placement 2017

December 2016

The Dream Placement scheme brings together the brightest and boldest young students of Cumbria with some of the most forward-looking and successful businesses in the county.

On Thursday December 8, Energus hosted the Dream Placement 2017 Selection Event for West and South Cumbria, and on Tuesday December 13, 2016, Carlisle United Football Club (CUFC) hosted the Dream Placement 2017 Selection Event for North and East Cumbria.

Group Finance Trainee James Costin attended the event to assist with the selection process. He successfully gained a role with Story Homes after taking part in the scheme in 2015.

Over 200 pupils applied and around 100 of the most talented young people have competed for a chance to work with some of Cumbria’s most successful businesses.

This February half-term, two lucky students will be spending a week with Story Homes to gain significant insight into the world of work as part of the Centre for Leadership Performance’s Dream Placement Scheme.

The week long placement differs from the usual type of work experience as the focus is on leadership. This will give the students valuable knowledge and skills in understanding how business leaders work and the challenges they face.

We look forward to welcoming them to the business in the New Year.
