First look at our Chancel Place show home

May 2018

We are pleased to share a preview of the interiors at our show home at Chancel Place, Longhoughton, which have been inspired by the development’s Northumberland surroundings.

The four-bedroom detached Taunton has been designed and styled by Show Business Interiors, who we asked to create an aspirational show home with an opulent feel that would appeal to a wide variety of homebuyers.

Influences from the Alnwick area can clearly be seen in the show home. For example, nearby Alnwick Castle was used as the exterior of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, so one of the children’s bedrooms has been designed with a Harry Potter theme.

Charlotte Darby from Show Business Interiors says: “We wanted to ensure that purchasers felt connected to the local area within the home, so we created a gallery of artwork on the stair wall and in the lounge containing both abstract imagery and images of the area such as the castle and local landscapes.

“For the Harry Potter room, our mural artist created a bespoke hand-painted mural and brick effect wallpaper for all the other walls. We brought it to life with potion bottles, books, broomsticks and wands to create a lasting impression on all who see it.”

In terms of the colour scheme, Show Business Interiors selected neutral base tones with pops of raspberry in wall colours, styling pieces and artwork, and have used feature wallpaper to the entire hall, stairs and landing area for maximum impact when visitors enter the home.

Charlotte explains more about the style of the bedrooms: “We wanted the master bedroom to feel like a sumptuous and expensive boutique hotel room, so we have used a wenge-framed headboard with layered bedding, pillows and throws.

“The guest room is much softer with a raspberry-coloured headboard sitting on top of a soft, textured wallpaper. For the other children’s room, we created a room that would be any young girl’s dream; a cloud wallpaper that spans from the headboard wall up and onto the ceiling so it really feels like you’re walking in the clouds.”

Our show home is now open from Thursdays to Mondays, 11am to 5pm. For more information call our Sales Executive on 07870 881155 or email chancel.place@storyhomes.co.uk.
