From Coventry to Chancel Place for climbing couple

April 2019

A couple of retired professionals from Coventry have relocated to Northumberland, purchasing a new-build home in the village of Longhoughton.

Having recently come to the end of long professional careers, Colin and Elaine Little decided to make the move from the Midlands up to Northumberland, where Colin grew up.

The Littles chose a Story Home at our Chancel Place development, opting for a four-bedroom detached ‘Warwick’ house type.

Colin commented: “We were keen to move to this area and fortunately we discovered there was a plot available at Chancel Place which suited our needs. We were very impressed by the quality of the build and the show home when we visited the development, as well as the Story Homes team.

“The development is ideally located for us. It is fairly rural which we like, and as we enjoy outdoor pursuits we are well-placed for the countryside and the coast here. Alnwick is a nice town and is only a few miles away so we have the best of all worlds really.”

Colin and Elaine are used to new-build homes, having bought two in the past. They said: “The other two new homes we have had just don’t compare to our Story Home. The experience has been far better this time as well. The site and sales team have done a great job and have been so helpful throughout the process. Everyone we have dealt with has been excellent.”

The couple are delighted with all aspects of their new home but particularly like the open-plan kitchen/diner that leads onto the back garden: “We haven’t had this type of living space in our previous homes so we are really enjoying this feature.”

Kayleigh Pinchen, Sales Manager at Story Homes, said: “It is great to hear that Colin and Elaine are so happy with their new home. A number of our homeowners at Chancel Place have relocated from elsewhere in the UK, with the location proving to be very attractive – especially for those who want to be close to coast and countryside for outdoor activities, but with amenities and major routes easily accessible.

“We have now passed the 50 per cent sold mark on this popular development and we have just released several new four and five-bedroom properties.”
