Story Homes is pleased to announce that we have secured planning permission to build 86 new homes off Willow Drive in Wrea Green, Lancashire.
This high-quality and sensitively designed development will complement the existing character of the village, it will also boost the supply of much needed new homes and make a positive contribution towards the supply of affordable housing in the area. The proposed development delivers a mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached homes, and some of these new homes will be affordable.
Our proposals will also provide local contractors with opportunities to tender for work, and there will be knock on benefits for local supply chains and other local businesses and services.
Story Homes’ development planner, David Hayward said: “We welcome the decision by Fylde Borough council and are delighted to have our plans approved. Wrea Green is a sought after area and a great location offering the best of rural living with Blackpool and Preston both just a short drive away.
“Story Homes is expanding across the North West, with a reputation that has been built on designing and building high quality homes which contribute to the character of the local area. Following on from Brookwood Park in Kirkham it is exciting to now be bringing our product to Wrea Green, which is a highly sought after location in Fylde”.
The development is expected to help create new jobs directly and indirectly through the use of local sub-contractors and the supply chain. Statistics from the Homes Builders Federation show that every house built creates on average 4.3 new jobs.
We will also contribute approximately £200,000 towards the provision of secondary education places and £150,000 towards maintaining the local bus service. The development will also provide traffic calming on Willow Drive and a zebra crossing on Ribby Road.
