We have successfully secured the backing from Preston City Council with reserved matters planning permission granted for phase two of Waterside in Cottam.
Our proposals for the re-plan for the second phase of the development, will deliver 119 homes bringing the total to 294 homes, an increase of 10 properties. As part of this new phase, we will be launching a range of new house type designs consisting of a mixture of two, three, and four-bedroom properties from ‘The Story Collection’.
The collection incorporates the best features of a Story home in terms of design and elevations to retain the housebuilder’s unique street scenes, and internal layouts to offer modern, open plan living spaces. The new offering includes the four-bedroom detached Hewson, Harrison and Jefferson house types, and all of the new homes have been named after staff who work for the company, which has a regional office based in Chorley.
Planning Manager Siobhan Sweeney said: “We are delighted that Preston City Council has granted permission for the re-plan of this development. We worked closely with the council to design a scheme that is not only high-quality but will also complement the existing character of Cottam.
“Waterside is a key development in the area with only two homes remaining for sale in our first phase. In this next phase of new homes, we’re excited to be bringing The Story Collection to Waterside – these homes showcase the best of our designs over the years in one range.”
The scheme will have benefits for the local economy during the construction phase as a result of direct and indirect employment opportunities through the sub-contractor and supply chains, as well as an increased demand for local services when the new houses are occupied.
We anticipate starting work on-site from spring 2021 with the first homes due to complete in autumn 2021.
