Despite the recently announced changes to the Help to Buy (Scotland) scheme, Story Homes can still offer the Government initiative to customers.
While the Scottish Government and Homes for Scotland has announced that the scheme will close for large developers on Tuesday 26 May, Story Homes is still able to offer the scheme to customers beyond this point.
This means that buyers can still purchase a new home with just 5% deposit, receiving a 20% grant from the Scottish Government, but still owning 100% of the home. Story Homes currently has two developments in Scotland: Pentland Reach in Biggar, Lanarkshire and Summerpark in Dumfries, Dumfriesshire. Help to Buy is available on both of these developments.
The Help To Buy (Scotland) Large Developers scheme is nearing completion and the deadline for applications is Tuesday 26 May as funding for the scheme comes to end. Story Homes is registered with The Help to Buy Small Developer scheme which is ongoing, with applications still being accepted.
Susan Pollard, Sales Manager for Story Homes is pleased that the incentive is still available for Story Homes’ customers. Susan said: “Many of our customers in Scotland have been using the Help to Buy incentive to help them buy their dream home, and the announcement that it was ending for the large developers was disappointing. However, we can still offer the scheme and I would advise customers to apply now if they are interested so that they are not left disappointed.”
In 2014-15, the Scottish Government suspended Help to Buy (Scotland) due to over subscription. Funding was provided again for the 2015-16 year but this is not an unlimited budget.
Story Homes’ team of Sales Executives are able to provide expert help and advice about purchasing a Story Home through the Help to Buy (Scotland) scheme. The marketing suites will be open all through the Bank Holiday weekend: opening times are Thursday to Monday, 10.30 to 4.30pm.
