The local house builder fought off major rivals including national builders such as Bellway Homes Scotland, Meridian Homes, Miller Homes, Redrow Homes and Stewart Milne Homes to win one of the most coveted awards in the house building industry.
Fred Story, Chief Executive, Story Group commented.
“We are delighted to have won the award for ‘House of the Year. We were up against very strong competition, and in comparison to some of those shortlisted, we are a relatively low volume house builder. Achieving success in these awards sends out a strong message to customers that buying a Story Home guarantees them a quality, high specification home. Were thrilled with the sales success weve achieved at Summerpark; its an attractive development with thoughtfully planned street scenes which is integral to its continued success.
“Our Summerpark development continues to build on our reputation as one of the areas premier house builders and we are dedicated to producing exceptional new developments that truly reflect the Story Homes brand.”
This is the second year running that Summerpark has been shortlisted for a prestigious Scottish Home Award. Entries are judged on a range of criteria including energy efficiency, location, design and materials and marketing and incentives. The award winning property is a 4-bedroom detached house which offers fantastic accommodation throughout featuring generous room sizes and a sensible layout. Story Homes pay as much attention to detail internally as externally, with a block paved driveway and front garden laid to lawn. An Arundel at Summerpark is currently priced at £232,950.
Chair of the judging panel, Margo Macdonald commented;
“Its very difficult to sell houses at the moment but hopefully our winners will now have the edge over the competition by showing their developments as truly award winning in a highly respected programme which has great support from the industry.
“Its also important to recognise achievements this year when housing businesses have really struggled to come to terms with the recession. Anyone delivering new homes in this environment is worthy of recognition but these winners have really excelled.”
The awards, sponsored by ros.gov.uk, are run in partnership with house builders, sponsors and an expert judging panel to recognise the best in new build created in the last year. The winners received a specially commissioned award statue and a marketing pack designed to help boost sales.
