Local couple secure their ideal home thanks to Story Homes’ Part Exchange scheme

May 2018

A couple from Clifton have secured their perfect Story Home thanks to the housebuilder’s Part Exchange scheme. Rebecca Schulz and Marc Farquhar recently moved into their brand new four-bedroom ‘Wellington’ house type at The Oaks development along with their dog Alfie.

Rebecca and Marc were living in a starter home on a neighbouring estate to The Oaks and were keen to stay in the village. The pair did not want to compromise on location, but wanted a larger home which would provide them with more space – particularly for their beloved dog Alfie and with another puppy on the way.

The couple decided on the ‘Wellington’ house type at The Oaks thanks to its spacious utility and integral garage, which is perfect for their outdoor lifestyle with Alfie. The couple were also keen to have an extra guest bedroom so that family could visit – something that was missing in their previous home. Rebecca said: “We have a great view of the fells through our bi-fold doors and being able to open up our dining area on warm sunny days is a huge benefit for us. We love the style of the kitchen that we chose, and with additional lighting and a five-ring electric hob, it looks stylish and also practical.”

Rebecca and Marc had viewed a number of pre-owned houses but by the time the cost of decorating and making repairs had been considered, they decided to purchase a brand new home that they could customise and tailor to their personal taste.

Marc said: “We had heard only good things about Story Homes, so when the opportunity arose to purchase at The Oaks, we had no doubts due to the reputation and good stories we had heard from friends and family. When we visited the show home, we expected a lot of the features and choices to be upgrades – we were shocked to discover the majority were standard and included in our purchase.”

The couple opted to use Story Homes’ Part Exchange scheme to buy their new home. Rebecca explained: “The Part Exchange scheme really took the stress out of selling our home. We received the price we wanted for our old house and had no worries about a sale falling through. The fact that we could stay in our house until our new home was ready was an added bonus.”

Hayley Blair, Head of Sales at Story Homes, Said: “With our Part Exchange scheme, Story Homes buys a customer’s property for up to 100 per cent of its market value, effectively acting as a cash buyer for the house. A major advantage of the scheme is that you don’t get caught up in a chain with the possibility of losing your buyer or have to worry about any last minute hitches – so with no estate agent fees and no chain, this scheme takes away the stress of a house move.”

Rebecca continued: “The service we have received from Story Homes as a local family builder clearly sets them apart from the larger national companies. Our Sales Executive Angie gave us confidence from the beginning that Story Homes employs customer focused individuals who provide a great service throughout. Keeping us regularly updated and with no request too much to ask, Angie has made the process of buying our new home enjoyable and stress free.”
