We have submitted a full planning application for new homes at High Harrington in Workington.
We are seeking full planning permission for the re-plan of the development, which will see an increase of 10 properties and will now deliver 125 new homes, following previous planning approval in July 2019 for 115 homes.
As part of these improved proposals, we will be introducing a range of house type designs including a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties as part of ‘The Story Collection’.
The Story Collection provides a range of family homes and incorporates the best aspects of a Story home in terms of their design and elevations to retain our unique street scenes, and internal layouts to offer modern, open plan living spaces.
Senior Development Planner, David Hayward, said: “Following planning permission for this site in July 2019, we have replanned the scheme to now deliver 125 new homes at High Harrington.
“Our application details how the development has been replanned, and as part of the proposed new layout we will be launching a range of new house type designs including a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties as part of ‘The Story Collection’, including bungalows and apartments to help address a range of local housing needs.”
The scheme will have benefits for the local economy during the construction phase as a result of direct and indirect employment opportunities through the sub-contractor and supply chains, as well as an increased demand for local services when the new houses are occupied.

We anticipate a decision in spring 2021.
