Plans submitted for new homes in Clitheroe, Lancashire

June 2015

Plans have now been submitted by Story Homes for a development of new family homes in Clitheroe, Preston.

Following consultation with the local community, Story Homes has submitted the plans for family homes in the town.

Story Homes is proposing to build up to 130 new high quality homes on the land off Henthorn Road. The land in question is adjacent to other new development in the area and already benefits from outline planning approval, agreeing to the principal of building residential development on the site.

The homes will support the local authority to meet its required housing numbers for the area and will also deliver up to 30% of affordable homes, designated for local people.

Paul Fenton, Planner for Story Homes said: “We have sought feedback from the local community and comments made have been taken on board within our submitted designs/plans. We are well known for designing and building homes which contribute to the character of the local area and our scheme in Clitheroe will bring with it a number of benefits for the local community.”

The development will bring with it key benefits including the creation of hundreds of jobs directly and indirectly through the use of local sub-contractors and the supply chain.

Financial contributions for education will be made where required and a package of improvements to footpaths, cycle paths and highways will be tied into a travel plan for the area.
