We are taking part in a skills fair which aims to help thousands of youngsters into training and work, and help businesses tackle a growing skills shortage across the North West.
We are joining more than 80 other employers and training organisations who are exhibiting at Bolton’s jobs and skills fair on Thursday 28 September 2017 at Bolton College.
Thousands of young people attend the event and one in five secured an interview after the jobs fair last year. People can take part in ‘have a go’ activities where they can try out practical skills including hairdressing, catering and construction as well as meeting experts who can advise and guide them on their future career.
The skills fair features the year 11 school leaver’s event ‘Find Your Future’.
Story Homes’ talent and development manager Shelley Hayward, said: “We are delighted to be attending Bolton jobs and skills fair where training providers, employers and those looking for apprenticeships or seeking employments come together under one roof.
“We have rapidly expanded over the last 18 months and have seen our North West region deliver more than 250 homes this year with ambitious growth plans across the region especially as we move in to Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.
“To support this growth we have a huge number of career opportunities across a range of roles including apprenticeships on our sites, engineering and design. We want to demonstrate that Story Homes is an employer of choice and one who has a long-term commitment to the North West. As we expand into new areas, Chorley will remain our regional base and, as such, we want to secure a pipeline of talent for the future. The skills fair is a great opportunity for us to talk about current and upcoming vacancies as well as opportunities for those considering work placements.”
