Customer Case Study: Why two households chose The Spencer at Tithe Gardens

July 2025

At our Tithe Gardens development in Poulton-le-Fylde, The Spencer house type continues to impress with its standout design, spacious layout, and high-quality finishes.

We spoke with two sets of homeowners – Meg & Cam, and Maisie – who each chose a Spencer home at Tithe Gardens.

They shared why this development stood out to them, what they love most about their new homes, and why Story Homes was the obvious choice.

What made you choose our Tithe Gardens development?

Meg & Cam:

“We love that Tithe Gardens has so many green spaces that will always remain as such, along with newly planted trees and a lovely park nearby. It feels peaceful but still connected, with the local town close enough for convenience. The whole development has a friendly, welcoming vibe which really helped us settle in quickly.”

Maisie:

“The moment I saw Tithe Gardens, I was impressed by the quality and care put into the homes here. Having family nearby who already live in the area was a big plus, but the real draw was the balance of being close enough to amenities without the chaos of the town centre. There’s a real sense of community here, and everyone I’ve met takes pride in their homes and neighbourhood.”

Which house type did you choose and why?

Meg & Cam:

“We chose The Spencer because it’s finished perfectly, with spacious rooms and a large garden – something rare in new builds. The personality and quality really stood out. We love the separate living room and kitchen/diner layout, the generous room sizes, and that stunning oak banister!”

Maisie:

“I also chose The Spencer and I absolutely love it. Initially, I looked at a smaller house but the wide hallways and extra space of the Spencer really won me over. Even though I live alone, I wanted a home that could grow with me. The separate living room offers a cosy, quiet space away from the kitchen, and the garden is the perfect size.”

What do you love most about your Spencer home?

Meg & Cam:

“What really caught our eye was definitely the look from the outside – it stood out straight away with its unique design and charming details. Inside, we’ve been really impressed by the layout, especially the separate living room that offers a cosy, comfortable space to relax. The kitchen and dining area is wonderfully spacious, making it perfect for entertaining guests. The generous room sizes throughout the home give us plenty of space to live and grow, which is so important.”

Maisie:

“I’m a huge fan of the spacious downstairs toilet and the clever under-stairs storage – usually you get one or the other, but here you have both. It’s these thoughtful details that make a real difference.”

Which room do you find yourselves spending the most time in?

Meg & Cam:

“The living room – the two separate windows bring in so much light and make the space feel really open and airy.”

Maisie:

“It’s hard to pick! I work in the back bedroom that doubles as my office, cook and entertain in the kitchen, and relax in the living room. The smallest bedroom has been claimed by my cat, and the family bathroom sees less use!”

Did you consider a second-hand property? If yes, why did you choose new?

Meg & Cam:

“We were living in a second-hand property previously, but wanted a new build for the reassurance of a warranty and support with any issues. Story Homes gave us that peace of mind.”

Maisie:

“I was initially against new builds but once I saw this development – and after my uncle (a builder and plumber) gave it the thumbs up – I was sold. I wanted a home that was beautiful, risk-free, and didn’t need constant repairs. This felt like the perfect blank canvas to make my own.”

What do you like most about living in a new build?

Meg & Cam:

“The space in our home is a huge benefit, especially compared to other new builds. The energy efficiency is great, and everything being brand new means we don’t have to spend time or money on renovations.”

Maisie:

“My bills have been cut by two-thirds thanks to the heat conservation and energy efficiency. Plus, moving in was stress-free since nothing needed fixing – just adding my personal touch.”

Did you consider other housebuilders? If yes, why did you choose Story Homes?

Meg & Cam:

“We didn’t need to – Story stood out from the rest straight away.”

Maisie:

“I looked around online but nothing matched the quality or character of Story Homes. Plus, the team, especially the Sales Executive Tracey, were incredible during the buying process.”

Would you recommend, or have you already recommended Story Homes?

Meg & Cam:

“Definitely – we’d 1000% recommend Story Homes!”

Maisie:

“I recommend Story Homes to everyone thinking about moving. The quality and trustworthiness are unmatched, and everyone who’s seen my home has fallen in love with it too.”
