Customer spotlight: The Pennington

September 2021

We’re shining a spotlight on our customer Paromita Mukerji, who moved into her Pennington at Elston Park in Grimsargh, late last year. The Pennington is a striking 5-bedroom detached home and is one of our largest house types, featuring an impressive open plan kitchen, dining and family area with bi-fold doors leading to the garden and a separate study too – it really is one of a kind.

We caught up with Paromita, a retired IT trainer who worked in the Royal Preston Hospital, to see how she’s settling into her new home.

Why did you choose The Pennington and what are your favourite design features?

“We chose the Pennington as we loved the large size and open plan design. My favourite feature is the layout of the open plan kitchen and the fact that our friends and family can gather round the kitchen island whilst I cook, warm food and prepare drinks.

“When we were initially looking for new developments in the local area we came across D’Urton Manor and fell in love with the show home, The Westminster, but unfortunately it was sold. It was then that we saw The Pennington at Elston Park, which is similar to The Westminster and the layout of the first floor was perfect for us. The house is also very airy with lots of light.”

What made you choose Story Homes?

“We were specifically looking for a new build home as we liked the idea of having a modern home with no DIY or maintenance needed. We were drawn to the design of the houses, especially from the outside! Story Homes use a mix of materials like stone and brick which made all the difference for us.”

Why did you choose Elston Park?

“We previously lived on Woodplumpton Lane in Broughton for more than 16 years before deciding to downsize as we began our retirement. We wanted to stay in this area to be close to my husband’s surgery in Longridge as well as his office in Leyland, so Grimsargh is the ideal location for us.”

Tell us about your experience with Story Homes?

“We are extremely happy with the service we’ve received from Joanne, the Sales Executive at Elston Park, who has been a huge help throughout, as well as the Site Manager, Jamie and the Assistant Site Manager, Nigel. We must also mention David Rimmer, the Production Director in the North West, who was also crucial in helping us to choose our plot.

“We had a few snagging issues when we moved in, as is usual with a new build property, but the issues have been resolved with the help of Joanne, Jamie and Nigel. The staff have been fantastic and I would definitely recommend Story Homes to our friends and family.”

Elston Park features a collection of beautiful 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes in Grimsargh with a wide range of designs and layouts to suit a variety of customers. If you’d like to find out more about Elston Park, or book a 1-2-1 appointment to visit our show homes, click here.
