Location location location
Brampton is a small market town nestled in the gently rolling countryside of the Irthing Valley and Geltsdale, less than 20 minutes drive away from Carlisle, perfect for couples and families alike. The town has excellent transport links including a regular bus service, a railway station and is within easy reach of the A69 and M6 motorway, ideal for commuters.
Although Brampton boasts a countryside setting, there is an array of local amenities available, including local shops, pubs, restaurants, a library, dental and doctors practice, bank, church, post office and more. When it comes to doing the food shop you will be spoilt for choice too, with a Co-op Food, SPAR and even a Cranstons Cumbrian Foodhall, the perfect place to stock up on fresh local produce!
There are also two schools less than 10 minutes walk away, Brampton Primary School and William Howard Secondary School, making Winchester Place an ideal location for families with children of all ages.
What is there to do?
There are many picturesque walks to enjoy, including Gelt Wood and Talkin Tarn Country Park, both only two miles away. Talkin Tarn is home to a 65 acre lake set amid 120 acres of farmland and woodland. The tarn is an ideal place for active recreation or a quiet stroll through the mature woodlands.
New Mills Trout Fishing Park has fun for all of the family, from giant outdoor games and a play area to meeting alpacas and following the fairy trail. The best part is it’s only a five minute drive from Winchester Place!
Brampton has two garden centres, Oakbank Garden Nurseries and Tarn Road Nurseries, where you can pick up some new additions for your garden or simply take a look around for the afternoon.
There are a variety of cafes, restaurants and takeaways to choose from, including Bite Cafe and Gallery who serve hearty breakfasts and tasty lunches. Or if you’re looking for a somewhere a little more special, the popular restaurant Fantails located in nearby Wetheral just a 12 minute drive away.
