Relax and unwind at Ramside

February 2017

When it comes to finding the perfect place to relax and unwind in unrivalled luxury, look no further than the Spa at Ramside in County Durham.

Part of Ramside Hall Hotel, just a few miles from Durham city, this stunning modern spa has everything you need to beat the festive stress – or the subsequent January blues. The £8million spa opened its doors in 2015 and has already collected a string of awards from industry leaders and spa experts.

Treatments and rituals are delivered in 14 luxurious treatment rooms, some which are designed for two people making them ideal for couples or friends to enjoy a relaxing treat together.

Using only ESPA products, the Spa at Ramside’s highly skilled team of therapists and experts provide a vast treatment selection of massages, facials and other beauty rituals.

The spa also boasts one of the north east’s few Middle Eastern mud Rasul chambers, and after a treatment, clients can then lie back in a darkened sleep retreat complete with soundwave therapy beds and sleep pods to relax even more.

There is also a nail room offering manicures and pedicures using SOTE (Salt of the Earth) and Morgan Taylor brands as well as a makeup station.

The spa is one the few in the north of England which uses Mii products, all of which can be purchased during a visit.

The only thing that can compete with the Ramside’s treatment menu is its other spa facilities. It houses five pools, including a 25-metre swimming pool, a bubble pool, hydrotherapy pool and an outside vitality pool which is part of the Spa Herb Garden. There is also an infinity pool on the first floor, complete with its own snug which can be hired out to couples and groups.

Other spa facilities include a tepidarium, Himalayan salt steam, aroma steam, drench showers and two different saunas – a herbal and a sunken amphitheatre.

There are numerous spa packages, spa days and breaks and there are always monthly specials on offer, showcasing its many treatments.

The Spa at Ramside is big on wellness, and is currently promoting its holistic health plan. It believes a healthy mind is as essential as a healthy body, and has been actively promoting this with free sessions for members this autumn.

It was also the first spa in the north east to become Wellness for Cancer accredited, with its staff fully skilled in treating and working with people affected by the condition.

And it’s not all about the spa itself. After a hard day relaxing, why not enjoy a delicious dinner in its own Fusion restaurant? This Pan Asian restaurant offers a large menu of Asian snacks and meals using the freshest of ingredients.

The spa is part of the Ramside Hall Hotel, which means there is also the option to stay overnight. There are several overnight packages available and the hotel also runs regular offers, with discounts on spa days, meals and accommodation.
