Following the purchase of land at Reynard Close, Longton, and after receiving planning consent from South Ribble Borough Council in July, we’ve commenced initial groundworks at our latest development in the north west, Longton Grange.
This exclusive new development of 34 properties includes a range of one to six-bedroom homes, featuring a high specification and internal layouts that offer modern, open plan living spaces and exterior details that create the unique street scenes for which we are renowned. 30% of the homes will be affordable, and we will pay over £50,000 towards the provision of improved public open space within Longton, as well as £480,000 in Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)*.
Adam Galleymore, Operations Director for Story Homes North West, said: “We’re delighted to have begun works on our 34-home development in Longton which will make an important contribution towards local housing delivery, including the provision of new affordable homes. The team has worked hard, and to go from exchanging contracts and submitting a planning application in November 2022, to completing the purchase and starting work on site in August 2023 is exceptional.”
We’re also progressing plans for a proposed residential development of 118 homes on land adjacent to Blainscough Hall in Coppull.
Following the approval of outline planning permission in February 2022, we recently submitted a reserved matters application to Chorley Borough Council, which includes a mix of one to five-bedroom high quality new homes, with 30% of the properties being affordable. Whilst significant areas of public open space will be created within the development, we will also pay over £200,000 towards the provision of improved public open space within Coppull. In addition, we will contribute £320,000 towards increasing secondary education capacity in the local area and will pay over £1.2m in CIL.
Martin Nugent, Head of Land and Planning for Story Homes North West said: “We’re excited to be progressing detailed plans for a proposed residential development of 118 homes on land we’ve purchased in Coppull. We’ve worked hard to design the kind of high-quality scheme for which Story Homes is renowned. Our plans were submitted last month, and we look forward to receiving a decision from Chorley Borough Council in due course.”
We expect our first homes in Longton to be released for sale in spring 2024 and anticipate a planning decision on Coppull early in 2024.
