This festive season, we are delighted to announce a series of Christmas giving initiatives aimed at supporting local people in the areas where we build. From donating to charities to festive decorations for community hubs, we are embracing the spirit of giving this year.
In the North East, we have provided a large outdoor Christmas tree to Beaumont Community Hall, located just minutes from our Beaumont Grange development in Darlington. The impressive tree is bringing festive cheer to the hall and its visitors throughout the holiday season.
In North Tyneside, near our Robinson Fields development, we have sponsored £100 for a light on the digital ‘Tree of Light’, part of the Whitley Bay Rotary Club’s annual fundraising campaign supporting North Tyneside General Hospital. The Tree of Light allows people to leave a message to celebrate the season, remember a loved one, or simply share festive cheer, with all funds raised supporting charitable projects at the hospital.
In Cumbria & Scotland, we have supported South Lakes Housing in their ‘25 Gifts for 25 Days’ appeal, donating £500 to help create festive magic for local people in need, ensuring children and their families experience the joy of Christmas.
Continuing our longstanding tradition, the Cumbria & Scotland Sales and Marketing and Communications teams at Story Homes have decided to forgo exchanging individual Christmas gifts this year, instead raising money for Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal, helping bring festive joy to children in need across the region.
In the North West, we are once again making donations to local food banks in the Chorley area. Alongside food donations, we also donated £817 in Asda gift vouchers, enabling the food bank to top up supplies with essential items where they are needed most during the Christmas period.
Across our three regional offices, Story Homes colleagues also took part in Christmas Jumper Days, raising additional funds for our charity partners, the Great North Air Ambulance and the North West Air Ambulance, supporting the vital, life-saving work they carry out.
Hayley Blair, Sales and Group Marketing Director said:
“Christmas is a time for giving and supporting those around us. As a local housebuilder, we are proud to give back to the areas where we build our homes and have offices, and we hope these initiatives bring a little extra joy to those who need it most this festive season.”
We remain committed to supporting communities across the North of England and look forward to continuing our work to make a positive difference, both during the festive season and throughout the year.
